Ayenat Belay

Ayenat Belay is an experienced intellectual property operations professional with more than 25 years of experience supporting U.S. and international patent and trademark portfolios across large law firms. She brings deep expertise in patent docketing, IP transfers, and department management, with a strong focus on compliance, operational efficiency, and quality assurance.

At Scale LLP, Ayenat serves as an IP Docketing Manager, where she oversees docketing systems and workflows that support attorneys and clients across the full IP lifecycle. She collaborates closely with legal teams to ensure critical deadlines are met, processes run smoothly, and risk is minimized through consistent, high-quality operational practices.

Prior to joining Scale LLP, Ayenat held senior docketing and IP operations roles at large law firms, where she played a key role in optimizing docketing processes, implementing system improvements, and training and mentoring teams. Her work has helped improve transparency, strengthen compliance, and elevate overall client service.

When she’s not focused on IP operations, Ayenat is passionate about process improvement and building efficient systems that empower teams and support exceptional legal work.
