Kristin is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience litigating catastrophic personal injury cases in the sports, recreation, hospitality, resort and adventure industries while developing the doctrines of express and primary assumption of risk. Kristin’s clients include ski resorts, mountain bike parks, venues, hotels, well-known equipment manufacturers and retailers, and trade associations. In addition to providing zealous representation, she regularly advises on risk management and liability avoidance.
In her employment defense practice, Kristin represents Fortune 500 employers and insurance companies on a wide variety of employment related issues, including: wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination and harassment under FEHA/Title VII, misclassification claims, regulatory defense including Cal OSHA litigation, workplace investigations, serious and willful misconduct claims, wage and hour compliance and litigation, single plaintiff and class action PAGA actions, Labor Code section 132(a) claims, workers’ compensation, civil subrogation, corporate employment contracts, and labor disputes. She regularly appears before the CRD, DLSE, state and federal courts, and administrative agencies to defend her clients, while also providing advice and counsel and risk management defense strategies.
Kristin enjoys living in the mountains and spends her free time trail running, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, backpacking, and hiking. She has competed in over 35 marathons and ultra-trail marathons. She serves as a member of the Board of Directors for several non-profits, including the Responder Alliance Foundation, Truckee Trails Foundation, Association of Ski Defense Attorneys, and the Tahoe Truckee Bar Association. In 2025, Kristin was appointed Special Counsel to Ski California.
