Charles Caliman

Charles is a solution-oriented corporate attorney with more than 15 years of experience advising executives and senior leaders in private equity, venture capital, small business, business start-ups, and the cannabis industry. With a focus on corporate and commercial transactions, Charles’ work spans multiple industry verticals, including investment funds, real estate, health & wellness, technology, merchandising, logistics, retail, marketing, and insurance. Drawing on his in-house background, as well as his extensive experience working directly with founders and the C-suite, Charles is adept at advising clients on the business implications of complex legal issues, providing practical counsel with an emphasis on efficiency, risk mitigation, anticipatory planning, and corporate strategy.

Prior to joining Scale, Charles co-launched a boutique law firm before venturing into solo corporate practice and founding a turnkey cannabis consulting platform. Previously, Charles served as Assistant General Counsel to a global leading private equity investment management firm, where he closed over $10 billion in invested capital. Charles began his legal career at Bryan Cave LLP.

Charles received his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and is a member of the California Bar Association.
