Garrett leverages his extensive experience as a general counsel, business operator, litigation finance investor and litigator to offer strategic advice on complex and innovative issues. Skilled in evaluating and communicating the strengths and risks of a client’s position, he helps navigate their options, and forcefully advocates on their behalf. Garrett has a track record of successfully negotiating and resolving complex disputes. He has extensive experience conducting domestic and multinational investigations and has represented clients in front of government agencies including DOJ, SEC, FINRA, SIGTARP and the OCC. Garrett has navigated regulatory and ethical complexity to bring products to market, and offers a full range of legal advice. His expertise includes handling a range of corporate transactions, particularly in the litigation finance sector.

Garrett joined Scale in 2023, following roles as General Counsel of Mighty Group, Inc., a Series B legaltech and litigation finance startup, Managing Director at Lake Whillans Litigation Finance, and a litigator at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. During law school, Garrett served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Chicago Law Review. He also clerked on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Garrett received the Legal Aid Society’s 2024 Pro Bono Publico Award for securing the vacatur of his client’s wrongful conviction for manslaughter.
