Jonathan Atzen

With a business-oriented mindset and ‘hands-on’ style, Jonathan has served for over 20+ years as both general counsel/chief legal officer and senior outside corporate counsel to high-growth technology startups, emerging companies, and established enterprises in industries that include IoT, SaaS, e-commerce, software, UAV/UAS, mobile security, music, life sciences and healthcare. His expertise centers on corporate transactional matters including venture capital, private equity, and M&A as well as advising on commercial contracts, technology transactions, equity incentive plans, employment, and corporate governance. Jonathan is focused on serving as a trusted legal operations and business advisor as fractional in-house counsel to entrepreneurs, executives, boards, and investors.

Most recently, Jonathan served as the SVP & Chief Legal Officer for Create Music Group, Inc., a music, rights management and data analytics technology company focused on music distribution, publishing and catalog acquisition. As an integral member of Create’s senior executive team, he managed all internal and external legal operations including equity and debt financings and the business & legal affairs team. As CLO, Jonathan also managed and supervised Create’s extensive merger and acquisition activity of established labels, companies and artist catalogs.

Prior to Create, Jonathan’s career is highlighted by serving on the senior executive teams as General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer to Reviver, Inc., a venture-backed technology company focused on connected vehicle technology platforms as well as Ocata Therapeutics, Inc. (formerly Advanced Cell Technology), a publicly-traded biotechnology company focused on regenerative medicine and stem cell therapeutics.
