Karey Marren

Karey Marren brings more than a decade of experience as an officer and attorney in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps to her practice. She draws on both litigation and regulatory experience to give clients practical, thoughtful legal advice.

A former federal prosecutor, criminal defense counsel, and appellate attorney, Karey is a seasoned advocate in the courtroom and at the negotiating table. She applies that experience to her civil litigation practice, representing clients in commercial disputes, employment matters, and government contract protests.

Her regulatory background is equally adept. At Fort Bragg, North Carolina, she served as a trusted legal advisor to some of the nation’s senior military leaders. Her experience spans internal investigations, procurement integrity, regulatory compliance, data privacy, and workplace issues.

Karey is a member of Scale, LLP’s Dual-Use & Emerging Defense Technology team, where she helps clients navigate both defense and commercial markets. She counsels companies facing government investigations, compliance challenges, and employment issues—from workplace policies and internal complaints to litigated disputes.

When matters escalate, she represents clients in civil litigation and bid protests, bringing the same strategic judgment she developed in uniform to every case.
