April 1, 2026 — Four attorneys with Scale LLP have been promoted to Partner: Andy Baxter, Sara Rau, Sabina Schiller, and Charles Wallace. The promotions reflect the firm’s continued growth and commitment to developing attorneys who build deep client relationships and strengthen the practices around them.
These four attorneys have each carved out meaningful roles within the firm, growing their practices across litigation, intellectual property, corporate, and life sciences work in markets spanning Washington, D.C., Virginia, Texas, and Massachusetts.

Baxter is a seasoned trial attorney with more than 15 years of experience in state and federal courts. His practice centers on First Amendment law and business litigation, where he has become a leading advocate for businesses and individuals in matters involving defamation, trade secrets, non-competes, and other business torts. Baxter has led landmark First Amendment litigation before the Virginia Court of Appeals and the Virginia Supreme Court, including the closely watched Rolofson v. Fraser case concerning retaliatory defamation suits and Virginia’s Anti-SLAPP statute.
Rau is an experienced health care attorney who advises health care companies, private equity, and growth equity funds on a broad range of corporate and regulatory matters. Her work focuses on HIPAA and other privacy and security laws, federal health care regulatory compliance, and state and federal licensure across the health care continuum. Rau also counsels funds and their portfolio companies on strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
Schiller is a commercial litigator with a wide range of experience in complex litigation, including intellectual property disputes, business disputes, consumer class actions, and securities class actions in both state and federal courts. She has represented plaintiffs and defendants ranging from individuals to international corporations through every stage of complex commercial controversies.
Wallace is a litigation and intellectual property attorney who focuses on commercial litigation, trademarks and brand protection, and IP disputes for clients in the entertainment, sports, media, and retail industries. His firsthand experience in theatrical, music, and film production gives him a distinct perspective and practical understanding of the creative work his clients do. Wallace regularly counsels artists and entrepreneurs on building their brands, protecting their intellectual property, and resolving disputes.
